I guess you should visit the eye doctor more often than every 5.5 years… yeah, that’s how long time ago I was at Premier Vision in Terrell… Haven’t really had a need but I figured it was time and insurance covered most of it.
As you may have noticed, my eyes are not aligned properly. It is called Exotropia when one eye is going outwards. I can also control what eye is my dominant eye which is quite rare. It is a condition I was born with and it was so severe I had to have two surgeries in each eye when I was two years old. I had great eye sight after that, then came computers… say no more. And last time I visited was to get back my glasses. So with that said, 5.5 years is far too much time in between visits! But today was the day.
Dr. Wilson agreed that some changes had to be made to my prescription and he also thought that with my headaches I’ve had lately it may actually be from the Exotropia. I will have to come back next year and we can compare with this year and see if he should refer me to a surgeon so I have it corrected again. Apparently it is quite normal to have to go in and re-do the surgery and he said it’s over 40 years since the last surgery it usually should have been done 10-15 years ago but there was no need for it back then. But maybe the new prescriptions will help and make my eyesight even better. One thing is for sure, I am absolutely dependent on my glasses.

Since they dilated my eyes I am not able to go outside for a couple of hours. They had some cool sunglasses that I could put inside my regular glasses so I could drive home. So I am taking this day off just watching the olympics and doing computer stuff and small cleaning. Having a nice day with the dogs!
