Before The Madness

Fourth of July weekend always means a lot of volunteer hours will be put in the books. No different this year. Actually more than previous years I would say. One of our CERT leaders are in the hospital and that means that me and Robert will have to coordinate the events and efforts as he usually did one of them. So yesterday me and Robert met for lunch to both chit chat (one of our specialties) and to make sure we had it all under control… or believe we do at least!

Today we are helping out the Josephine Police Department with traffic and parking control during their fireworks event. It will be a long event and the challenge is that not very many have signed up to help at this event, surprisingly. But we can do it!

Tomorrow we are helping British Flying Training School Museum (BFTS) with their first day of Freedom Festival. They are having a big concert with A Thousand Horses. No clue who they are but I will find out tomorrow. We are going to help with entrance and tickets among other things.

Both days will be long and hot. I know it. So glad I took off on 4th Of July. I am singing the National Anthem on Monday but it ain’t until 6pm so I have the entire day to recover from the previous two days.

Robert and I took a “before the madness” picture when we parted today. I doubt that we will look this happy on Sunday night when we say good night…
