Am I the only one who is really glad that Christmas is over and done with? Yes, I’ve been working all weekend and I really didn’t mind it to be honest. I don’t have a family to celebrate it with anyway. But I am usually in some kind of Christmas spirit and in a little jolly mood. This year… I woke up on Christmas day morning and it was all gone. I didn’t even want to hear a Christmas song on my way to work. It was warm already when I left for work at 3 am and I was just wanting cold and snow if it was supposed to be any feeling to it.
It didn’t help that the first call we had was an assault. Yeah… Christmas day morning at 5 am… someone can’t keep their manners and decides to hit your girlfriend, and right in front of your kids! All I can say… law enforcement did not take that lightly! If you could send someone to jail for killing ants while walking they would because they sent him behind bars for everything they could find! Kudos to law enforcement! But the situation was still sad.

It was record heat on Christmas day in Texas. I was sitting on the back of the truck having my lunch and right there I regretted my choice. Instead of bringing something that at least reminded of Christmas to eat I had brought chicken and rice in taco spices.

It was simply just another day at work… And people still wanted to go to the hospital. The difference thou was that people went for more bullshit things than normal! Sore throat for 5 days… swelling in my feet for 3 months… yes this is two of the patients we brought to the hospital on Christmas Day. Maybe it’s just me that doesn’t understand why people want to go on this specific day for things that could wait until today (Monday) or you could go to an urgent care. We always have these kinds of calls but it’s freaking CHRISTMAS DAY!

I’m off for two days now… And for once I don’t have any plans whatsoever. The only reason I even got dressed today was that my landlord is coming to pick up the rent. I will most likely take a walk with the dogs this afternoon and I have some minor shopping to do but if I do that today or tomorrow doesn’t really matter. So I’m just going to relax and cuddle with Twix and BamBam as much as I can!
