Day 2 – Progress

30 years ago, maybe even more, my mom came over a rare opportunity to purchase one of the Swedish Royal Tableware. It has about 100 pieces in it. In the storage unit we have a huge black heavy duty box where I know most of this tableware is. Safe and stored away. Well, today I got some more boxes with me home. One of these boxes was so broke I could barely carry it. It said fragile on it but little did I know that in this box was several pieces of this royal tableware. Plates, cups, saucepans and other things. OMG! We have been so blessed that nothing broke! I was in shock when I realized what was in that entire box. It is now repacked and safe.
Another thing I realized today is that my grandmother loved anything crystals. Lord be mercy how much crystal stuff she had!

This is just what I found in one box… and it’s not all of it… just the things I don’t feel saving… I don’t know why but I’m not super impressed by crystal stuff… it is beautiful, absolutely but when do you use it? And then if you do use it you have to wash it by hand after… lots of work…

Took home some stuff today that I put out on the curb… just do something to get it out of my house! I have no use for it. I’m tired of it. If anyone wants it – feel free to take it! Help me by taking it!

I have updated the group with some more stuff for sale or free. Just hope someone will get something. The only thing that will happen is that I will throw it away. I don’t want to collect all this crap, there is enough work getting it all sorted out!

This is how the unit looked when I left… the red circle is all trash. When all that is done, half the unit is actually completed! I have contacted a service to help me haul all that away. I am taking the easy way out. I’m done dealing with it. Everything to the right is all sorted and will stay.

Now I have to buy more moving boxes to re-pack stuff into as well as trash bags. It’s like a never ending thing here.

Must admit that I am a little proud of myself that I get this done. If I can’t close the entire unit down at the end of this, I hope that I can move everything to a smaller unit and reduce the cost. I pay almost $300/month for this. Considering how much there is in ther, it ain’t much. But that’s an expense I absolutely would like to reduce.

Aiming to do another round tomorrow. Better get going while I have the strength and energy for it!
