When 2023 started, I had a feeling that it would be a year full of changes. Changes very often mean rough times and needless to say, so far it’s been quite a challenge. But after rain comes sunshine and here I am.

Back in May I felt that I had to make changes to my life. I was anything but happy where I was. That’s when I started real estate school. But I also sat down and thought through what is making ME happy. I put myself in center. I don’t have a family to take in consideration, Twix and BamBam will always be priority but still not as a human being. You know what I mean… same with the horses. I will always fight to keep them regardless what happens. I sat down and made me a 6 months plan, 1 year plan and a 5 year plan. Put everything in writing so I could easily see what I have done and what to focus on. Last week I was able to cross off the bullet point “Obtain Real Estate License”.
My next goal was to either go part time at work or look for another job. I am missing being on the truck more than I ever could imagine I would do. I feel that’s where I belong. It is hard for me to sit on a chair only and not move around. I have gained so much weight these months and it is absolutely not good for my mind. So over the weekend I started looking for another job. See what there was out there available. Sent a couple of applications in to different companies.
I believe that when something is right and meant to be, things goes smoothly and fast. I sent in an application to Medical Jets in Forney on Sunday night for an EMT position. On Monday afternoon, around 3pm I had an email asking if I was interested in an interview this week. I had Tuesday and today available. I think within 20 minutes we had an appointment set for Tuesday at noon, less than 24 hours later. I went to meet them and had a great interview. They offered me a super interesting hybrid position where I will work both on the truck and in dispatch. That would be so awesome! The thing was that I had another interview scheduled for today, so the agreement was that I would give them a call right after the interview to let them know. As these days has passed I have been thinking about it a lot and when I went to the meeting today, I had already set my mind. Not long after, I called Medical Jets up and accepted the full time position I was offered!!! Went straight home and sent in my two weeks notice at work.

I am so freaking excited. I am so ready to try something new and different. Try a new company and meet new people. My last official day at UT will be 9/1 and I start orientation at Medical Jets on 9/4.

Not only will this mean less commute for me. I have an hour to work now and it will be 35 minutes, but the barn is also on the route so that will be much easier as well.

So finally, after many rough months I am looking forward to something awesome and amazing. I will still do real estate but as you probably can figure out, that is a kind of business that takes time to get established in and I can’t really be without a pay… so until then I have a fulltime job that I hopefully also will love!
