Another Flat Tire

I am so tired of tires. Cars and tires. I can drive anything but when it breaks I am really not your girl. Cars doesn’t interest me! They’re just nice to look at sometimes and fun to drive. When I was driving home Tuesday a yellow light popped up. Low air in a tire… again. But this time it was the tire I changed last, so it shouldn’t be low. I made it home and figured since I was off Wednesday I’ll get it fixed. I anyway had to get an oil change. On Wednesday morning the air was down super low, 19dpi. Slowly I made it the five blocks to Ford where they aired up the tire when they did the oil change anyway. The mechanic looked but couldn’t see anything. I thought of going to the tire shop then but lazy me kicked in and I went home instead.

Later in the afternoon I had to move the car and I took the opportunity to look. Hmmm… the pressure in the tire had decreased significantly in just 3 hours… but it was still good so I didn’t take any actions. Then just before I got to bed I got this gut feeling, maybe I should go out and look. I have to be in Athens at 9am the following morning which means if it is something I have plenty of time to get it fixed before and still make it in time. Thank Goodness I did. It was down to 9 dpi. Not driveable.

Just three houses up the street lives the owner of BrotherZ Towing and Recovery. I gave them a call and told them about my situation and asked if they were able to help me in one way or the other the following morning. Sure, I could call them and they could come down and air up the tire enough for me to get to Airport Tire here in town. Said and done! I don’t like calling people early and wake them up but he knew I would so 6:45 am I called and woke the poor guy up. He was so nice and came down to air up my tire. I need to have one of these smart things with all my tire problems!!!

Then off to Airport Tire. I had called them when they opened so they knew I was coming. I have stopped there several times and put air in my other tire. They were so helpful and it didn’t take long until they found the problem… yepp, a big nail chunk was stuck in there!

Thankfully not too expensive to fix and I was so glad I went out to look the night before because I didn’t have to stress at all. I made it to Athens in plenty of time.

A huge shout out to both BrotherZ Towing and Airport TIre for their help and excellent customer service!
