Cleaning Project Continues

Remember last year when I started the cleaning project. I did the garage and then I started on the storage. Well, the garage got filled up again so we are back on square one on that. What I didn’t even look into was mom’s old bedroom. When mom passed away I had a hard time going in there. I started using the room as a trash/storage room. “One Day…” Three years has now passed and that One Day still had not arrived… until last week… Don’t ask me what came over me but I opened the door to just look. And before I knew it I had gone through a quarter of the room and filled up 7 trash bags!!! I was so proud of myself. I had suddenly started this project and I was ready for the challenge. And as I got through the stuff, all ides of what I could use the room for started to pop up. Ideas that fueled me to continue.

So this morning I continued the cleaning. The trash bags I had filled was picked up yesterday morning so I was back on square one on that thankfully! Before I knew it, I had filled another 10 bags, a couple of plastic bins and some Ikea bags and mom’s old bed was suddenly cleared! OMG! I got the room sorted out!

Needless to say, it was a nasty job to do. Three years means three years of mice (rats) being able to do whatever they want in there… it didn’t smell roses if I say it that way… So now was the issue, how do I get rid of this nasty bed??? City of Wills Point does not offer any help with items like this. I called the trash company and they could help with the mattress but not the bottom part. So I asked around on Facebook and before I knew it a guy had answered offering to haul the bed away. Heck yeah!!! I called him up and in the same time mentioned that I also had a small couch that would be nice to get rid of too. The dog’s couch that was falling apart… And within 2 hours he had been to my house, picked up the bed and the couch and left! Amazing! I didn’t have to bother a friend with helping me, yes it cost me a little bit but it was absolutely worth it! Kevin came with two young boys that just picked it up on their trailer and off it went.

So my next thing to do is to get a professional company to come and clean the carpet in there. Not that I can’t do it myself but I have to rent a carpet cleaner and figure out how that machine works and bla bla bla bla bla… naaah… It is so much better and easier to let someone else who knows what they are doing come and do it. Then I feel I can use that room for what I have in mind… and that will be so awesome!

BamBam is not super happy with his couch being gone but I put a bed there instead so he still have something. It always takes him a day or two to figure the new things out. Twix was up on it and seemed to like it right away. Not the most pretty thing there but whatever. I rarely watch TV anyway! And until I can get something better ya know!

I didn’t take any pictures of anything which I somewhat regret. But I didn’t think I was going to finish the project this quickly to begin with and I didn’t think I was going to share anything about it either… yet here I am writing….
