Terrell Christmas Parade

It is that time of the year again. When there is one Christmas Parade or event after another. For the last couple of years I’ve been in charge of CERT’s involvement in the parade. We have two parts of this parade. We are first in charge of the line up of floats for the Terrell Chamber of Commerce. And then we head out to the route and help Terrell PD with manning the intersections for safety. We have done this so many years now so it goes very smoothly with everything. And we had enough volunteers this year to do what needed to be done. A couple of new people and some “oldies”. I love that mix, gives the new people a chance go get a feel for how we work and meet crazy me 🙂 And this group of people were amazing. All of them are just rockstars!

I saw a bunch of faces I haven’t seen for a while as well! I’m not in Terrell as much as I used to be so naturally I don’t see people that often. Therefore it’s almost tradition sometimes with a selfie…

Thankfully the weather was super nice. I don’t think I’ve ever worked a Terrell Christmas parade in short sleeve. Already at 6:45am the jacket was too much and stayed in the car the entire event. It is supposed to rain this afternoon so I know that some other events has been cancelled or postponed.

Typing this and sipping on my hot chocolate a volunteer gave me. I know that will make me a little sleepy so when the storm gets here me and the dogs will cuddle down in bed, maybe watch a movie and call it a day. I am back to work tomorrow so it has to be early anyway!
