Boo On The Brick

Halloween time means a lot of events everywhere. This year EastTex CERT was asked by Wills Point Chamber Of Commerce to help out at their Boo On The Brick. What was not expected was the load of rain that came yesterday and into this morning. So it was a modified and smaller version. Yet a great turnout and success. It came a lot of people and most of them dressed up! It was a lot of fun!

Well, with the changes that was made it was believed that we didn’t need traffic control but once the event started and some people did trunk or treat at a parking lot across the street traffic control absolutely was needed. So there I was, for almost 5 hours directing traffic…

I got my arm workout done for the day. My iWatch thought that I had been walking almost 6 miles but in reality that was waving cars! Thought that was a little funny.

A big surprise for all of us was when Matt suddenly showed up. Remember, he had a major stroke back in May and he is doing so well. He is walking slowly with a cane but he is out and about when someone can help him drive. He made so many happy with coming out and seeing us!

I am quite tired now to say it the least so it will be an early night for me. I was suppose to work today but had taken PTO to help out here. Well worth it! Congrats to WP Chamber for a great event and turnout despite the weather challenges! And thanks to the volunteers that came out to help!
