I must say Internet Community Providers, CIP, is an outstanding company! I called them Monday and they were able to accomodate my schedule and come out this morning to see what they could do to get me back online. They said between 8am and 1pm. That is a long window but I live basically 4 blocks from their office. At 8:10 am a knock on my door. It was actually the same guy that put it up three years ago. He told me that he would move the antenna so it wasn’t close to the wire and he would bolt it down harder than last time. And off to work he went. It took him about 2 hours. he had to replace absolutely everything. It was all burned up worse than after a lightningstrike! Even the bottom of the tripod had burned.
He said it was good that I had bought a new router because it would not be safe to use the same one. I had figured that out.
So now I have a new antenna up on my roof, it’s been moved away from the cable and is now standing in the middle of the house instead of to the side. They have upgraded their equipment so it was no problem to get a signal now thankfully!
A second roofer will come today and look at the roof and give me a second opinion. It will most likely be easier to figure out how much damage it actually is when the pole is back up again.
Now I just have the fun job with reconnecting all smart devices again. I am not kidding, it will be a mess!!! One thing at a time!
