Unwanted Visitor In My Car

I woke up this morning as usual at 01:40. Let the dogs out, took a shower, nothing strange at all. Left the back door open so the dogs could go out and in as they pleased. I’m sitting in my living room just done with makeup when BamBam starts to bark at the front door and runs outside and continues barking. Of course Twix follows to see what’s going on and even he is barking. These two does not bark unless there is something. But of course it’s pitch black and I don’t think about it but I feel it’s strange. Can’t hear anything. Let the dogs in, close the back door and locks it. Also something I rarely do in case of a fire.

About 5-7 minutes later I walk out the front door and to my car. At first don’t think about it but when I press the button the car unlocks. I open the driver door and quickly realize that someone has been in my car. The glove box is open and an envelope that was in the compartment between the seats is now in the driver seat. I look around and can’t see anyone. Instantly connect the dogs barking with this. Looking around in the car but can’t find anything missing. Not even the spare change is gone. So he must have been interrupted. Have to admit I was quite uneasy. Single woman and no clue if anyone is watching me. It is 2:40 am when I leave the house. I come two blocks away from my house, up on LyBryan St where a man with a bagpack is walking. Thought to myself; did you just snook in my car? He had a cap on and turned away from me so I couldn’t see more than he was wearing a mask. Thought that was interesting since he is outside in the middle of the night. Thought about calling the police about it, pissed that I didn’t.

Later in the morning I saw the following post from Wills Point PD on Facebook:

The Wills Point Police Department is seeking the assistance from the community in identifying a male suspect who broke into several vehicles this morning between the hours of 12AM and 4AM. A vehicle was also stolen from a residence during this time. If you have any information regarding the crimes and of identity of the suspect, please contact the Wills Point Police Department at (903) 873-2588.

Yepp, the same guy that I saw walking. Well I wasn’t the only one apparently who got hit and this made me even more convinced that Twix and BamBam’s bark made him scared and leave. But why did he lock the car? That made me quite confused!!!

Throughout the day different posts about it has popped up on social media. He has visited a lot of cars and surprisingly nobody has cameras (me included). This really made me think about moving my cameras around and putting cards in them so I can monitor everything around me. I have the cameras but they are set up to watch the dogs… time to change that.

I am just glad that he didn’t get anything from me and so sorry for all who got things stolen.
