Welcome To My New Life!

The life I’ve dreamt to come back to for many years! It is now happening!

Well, first… to follow up from yesterday! I went back to the shop this morning. I had been told that it would take about 3.5-4 hours to get the thermostat fixed so I had a full battery on my phone, lots of water and I was ready to wait.

But after about 1.5 hour the mechanic closed the hood and said “done”. Ehh what? You know I don’t know anything about this so I got a little confused. Yepp, it was done! Apparently to change thermostat is an easy thing to fix. Well then! On top of it, I got first responder discount! Wow!!! That was not expected, but I was very grateful! So if you ever need a mechanic in Wills Point; Donna’s Automotive on Hwy 64… awesome job!

I knew the trailer would be at the horses around noon but I headed straight up there when I was done at the shop. I wanted to spend some time with them, try to get the halters on. I knew there wouldn’t be any problem with Dallas but Amaria and Acriz could be moody. Well Dallas and Amaria was super easy but Acriz declined the offer to have one on.
Since I had a lot of time on my hands and all my grooming supplies in the car I figured I’ll just start trimming Dallas’ and Amaria’s mane and tail. Stupid me forgot to take a before picture of Dallas but she sure looked a little better afterwards!

I was so surprised. While I was grooming Dallas, Amaria was standing right behind me or sometimes next to me asking for attention. That is something she rarely do. I think they knew that they were going to another place. So when I was done with Dallas I continued with Amaria.

She absolutely doesn’t like to look good on pictures… I call her the Donkey sometimes. Never had a horse that can flatten out her ears straight out as she can. Well now she looked like a horse that was cared for at least!

When the trailer arrived we had to put the halter on Acriz. It was so amazing. Dallas helped us as a wall and pushed Acriz into a corner so we could get a halter on her. It was like Dallas said “sis, come on, we need to move to our new place”. The loading and transport went perfect. And when we came to the barn I had planned to have them in the stalls for a little bit to first of all get used to it. They have not been in a stall for I don’t know how many years.

With some sweet feed and hay to occupy them for about an hour they realized that this thing was pretty okay. The first 20 minutes was a little anxious but they heard each other and knew that I was there with them so it was okay. They all ate and drank well and that’s what I care about!

I went through all of them thoroughly so I know where they have scrapes and swellings and other things. Acriz got her much needed grooming of the mane as well…

It wasn’t the best trimming I’ve done in my life but whatever. She looks better at least! I think she actually liked it. She is the most shy and reserved of all of them but give her a week or two and she will open up and become more cuddly like her sisters.

After about 1.5 hour in the stalls I let them out so they could see their new pasture… These girls has come to the royal place now! Look at them! They are just so happy!

They are happy, I am happy, everyone is just happy today! I can’t really put words on all my feelings to be given this opportunity. It is just amazing!

My new life has begun and I am excited!
