Finally two days off. I need my weekends. I picked up a transfer truck yesterday and we drove 416 miles. It was a lot. We had a transfer to Sherman, TX and the drive one way is 2.5 hours. It took most of the shift which was nice but it was still a long drive. So to not have to set an alarm today was nice.
I still wake up around 5:30 am. If not by myself, Twix is of the opinion that we need to get up and get ready for our morning walk. And he is actually right. That’s the only time of the day you can walk! Before the heat and humidity kicks in. This morning was nice, 76F and even though it was humid you couldn’t really tell thanks to the breeze.
It was nice to get 4 miles in the books before 8 am and with that also finished my July Challenge. It was easy; close exercise ring 10 times…
I have seen posts online about Athens Farmers Market and I so wanted to go and look. On the posts it looked like a really fun event and the people I’ve talked to about it has confirmed it. This has been on my mind for a couple of weeks so today I took my camera with me and headed there. And it was not a disappointment. First of all, so many different things. Not just veggies or grown stuff but it was handmade beautiful things of all kinds, herbs and food as well as live music. Simply just awesome! I really enjoyed it!
I met so many nice people and talked about things I absolutely didn’t think I would talk about at a farmers market. I met a former dog breeder and we started talking about showing at Crufts and Westminister. I talked about mom, flowers, EMS, you name it. It was just such a good spirit at this event that made me so happy! And yes, I ate that crepes with strawberries, banana, nutella and whipped cream. And it was absolutely delicious!
I uploaded a bunch of more pictures on my photo page so head there:

From Athens I took the trip north west up to Dallas to see Matt again. He has had some roller coaster since I was there earlier in the week so I really wanted to see if he had made some step backwards that I anticipated him to have done. But I was absolutely wrong. Matt had progressed even more during these days! And he scared the crap out of me when he stood up from the wheelchair to show me how he could move his right leg!
I took the opportunity to kidnap him for a little bit and took him out on the balcony so he could feel the Texas heat, see the sun and some Dallas concrete for a couple of minutes. He really enjoyed that. Even if it was only for a couple of minutes he got to get out and see something outside the four walls in his room!
Finally home and finished with all pictures. Gonna relax for the rest of the day now. Twix is sleeping on my feet so he knows I’m not leaving him until Monday morning when I have to go back to work! Funny and cute dog!
