The upcoming weeks will be so different from my regular schedule. But also fun, or so I hope! On Friday is my first real performance in I don’t know how many years… And when I say that I mean that I sing more than two solo songs. I have performed the National Anthem but then you sing one song and that’s it. On Friday I have 12 songs on the set list… 12!!! Darn. I can’t even remember when I had a set list of 12 songs solo!
It was so hard to choose songs. I wanted it to be traditional midsummer as well as a little fun. But I also had to make it easy for myself and chose songs I basically knew from childhood because I wouldn’t have time to learn something new.
I have made sure I have all music on my iPad and I went through all today and except lyrics I think I have it all down. I will head to Denton tomorrow (1.5 hour drive) to meet the keyboardist Tony and we’ll have a quick run through. I am so excited about that. It is always so much fun to work with real professionals. I am just someone who loves to sing!
On my way home I’ll try to find some flowers to have in my hair. I know what to wear at least which is good.
Then on Friday morning I’ll head to the nail salon to change the colors on my nails to yellow and blue (of course) before going home and preparing and head to Grand Prairie around 3pm. Phew… it will be so much fun. While writing this I have figured out that it is 4 years since I performed more than one song. That’s when we had the Broadway Show here in Wills Point. That was a fun show I will never forget!
