Time For A New Cap

I always have a cap on at work. First of all it makes it easier avoiding the sun while driving as well as wind and rain to get in my face. I can’t be without a cap at work. The few (maybe twice) times I forgot the cap in the car or at home has been really awkward shifts. I feel naked without it.

Today, one of the supervisors was taking out a cap for a new employee and I asked if he had another one. The one I had is starting to look a little worn out. No wonder, it’s been with me since January 2021. I got this one just before I got back from my light duty. And thankfully he did have one that I could have.

This picture doesn’t show how much difference it actually was between the two hats. This one will be my fourth hat that I use and yes, I still have the other ones… I go through one hat a year apparently, this is my fourth year at UT Health EMS… And considering that this old hat has been through all kinds of Texas weather, it has held up pretty well I must say!

We are supposed to get new uniform shirts as well. I don’t know when, but it is a rumor I heard during EMS week… also something I need new. They are turning grey from the water here in Wills Point. Not easy to have anything white here.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend as well! I will be working all weekend so not much will be happening in form of party or excitement. It will be early nights and long days. Please stay safe and take it easy with the alcohol. Don’t drink and drive. I don’t want to see you in my (or any other) ambulance, okay?!?
