I have wanted a grill for several years. My dream is of course one of those gas grills you know but really, is that what I need? Probably not. But yesterday I went into Walmart and I saw a charcoal grill for $24. I simply couldn’t resist. I was doing it. The box almost jumped into the cart itself!
If you know me, you know that I am one of the most unhandy people on this planet Earth. I am a big joke when it comes to assemble things or repair stuff. I am an organizer, planner and creator… not a DYI or fixer upper person. But I also don’t have anyone to fix stuff for me so this time I had to try to assemble this grill myself. On the box it stated “Easy Assemble”… ha, proof to be…
And I did it! It was actually very easy to assemble. I was quite surprised how fast it went and without any problems at all! So now it was just the cooking left. I have not grilled myself for over 20 years. It’s not a joke. We had a grill when we moved to the US that we used a couple of times but it was always mom cooking. I don’t really like to cook but it was going to be fun this time! Some burgers for me and hotdogs for the boys… I knew I wasn’t going to eat all three burgers but that’s what it was.
Except that I put way too much charcoal on the grill (beginner mistake I guess) I got the grill going without problem. Got a little scared with the flames because it was quite close to the house and the rail. I actually hooked up the water hose just incase. But thankfully didn’t have to use it.
I was impressed how smart the dogs were and kept away from the grill all the time. They could probably feel the heat and that was not comfortable for them.
The result turned out pretty darn good. Well the boys likes hotdogs in any form. Raw, grilled, cooked. It is yummy. Except that the burgers “broke” when I was going to flip them they tasted really good. I ate two and the dogs ate the third. They approved of that as well.
