No Weight Loss Weekend

Sometimes you just have to give yourself some slack and that’s what I am doing this weekend. Last week was very rough in many ways. Long days at work, trying to balance life and then I picked up a night shift on Friday because I need money. Well of course I was exhausted after that shift! I am not a night person but it was the only shift I could squeeze into my schedule.

So Yesterday I declared a “No Weight Loss Weekend” after I got the 100 miles bib in the challenge… haha. Well, I had planned some of it already when I ordered Semlor and Cinnamon Buns from the Swedish Sisters Bakery in Dallas…

I came home from work and got 4 hours of sleep. The dogs thought it was a weird idea to go to bed at 5:30 am when it is light outside and they have just been sleeping all night so it was impossible to get in more. Well, I also had to be in Dallas at 12:30 to pick up my order… We usually don’t eat Semlor until Fat Tuesday which is March 1st this year but I won’t be able to go to Dallas then so I ordered mine early. This was actually the first time in 13 years that I had a real Swedish Semla. Usually I make a huge short cut and make my own with Hawaiian Buns which is far from the same but it works.

But I had to wait to engulf these delicious things because I had a lunch meeting at Snuffer’s to attend first with my producer Paul and his wife Michelle. I had never been to Snuffer’s so that was interesting. I’ve heard that their burgers are the best so that was a must. And if you know me, I love bacon, avocado and mushrooms and what is better than that on a burger… yepp, that’s what it was! DELICIOUS!

So once I got home yesterday afternoon, it was 3:30pm. Not only was I tired from the night shift and 4 hours of sleep, I had food coma from the burger and I of course had to have a Semla, right! There was no way I could keep myself awake. I aimed to stay awake until 6pm when my usual bedtime is but at 4:30pm I realized that there was no way I would be able to make it. I took the dogs inside and went to bed. The next thing I know is that it is already 5 am, yeah 12.5 hours later… Not as hungry as I thought I would be after all that food but a Semla and a cinnamon bun for breakfast was quite nice actually…
