Yesterday morning I took my walk in 70 degrees (21C) and a light drizzle. Today… I thought I had flew to Sweden overnight because it was 23 freaking cold degrees (-5C)! And for those of you in Sweden and northern states or countries that doesn’t think this is very remarkable… just let me remind you that Texas is not made for this cold temperatures. The houses are not made for it, the water lines nor do we clothes for this. We have shorts and t-shirts and that is not appropriate for today because it was not getting much warmer!.
I had thou made up my mind that I was going to take my walk regardless of the temperatures. Remember that I bought the dogs their own blankets and that was going on today!
It is not often I can get both Twix and BamBam in the same picture when they are walking in front of me. Usually BamBam prefers to walk “heel” on either side of me but today he was ahead of me a couple of times. I was wearing ski pants so today it was me slowing all of us down a little.
I was a little concerned over doing the walk because I didn’t know how my body would react to the cold temperatures but I was determined that if I am going to be able to reach my goals for this year not a little cold temperatures should stop me. It went well. Actually I had less dizziness when I got home than I normally do. Probably because my house was warmer than normal. Right now my thermostat is set on 76F because the bedroom is significantly colder so I can feel comfortable in the entire house. And it felt good to have this walk done! Great ego boost!
The dogs and I didn’t have any other plans for the entire day. Fold laundry and I got that done before lunch. So the entire day has been just a relaxed and chill day. They have been outside playing with the neighbors for a little bit but that got too cold and they came back in and retook their couch potatoes positions…
We are supposed to have these temperatures for another 48 hours, then a couple of nice days and then back to this. Texas is truly crazy when it comes to weather… It is a constant roller coaster!
