Oh Christmas Tree… the saga

I am not good at decorating. Period. My mom was amazing and could make the most beautiful things out of nothing but that ability was not given to me. But I love to have it decorated. The most optimal would be if someone came and did it for me but ha, I can’t afford that for sure! But I try and that’s better than nothing!

So a couple of weeks ago I decided to pull out the Christmas trees to see if they worked. I had 2 trees, one green tree and as well mom’s white tree that she loved. She had actually left some of the ornaments on it when she used it last, 3 years ago. My tree was out two years ago. I didn’t bother decorating last year. So to avoid the stress I took it out and the green one worked perfectly… The top part of the lights wasn’t working so it was an easy choice.

I decided to not have it lit because it was just a tad too early. I prefer to at least pass thanksgiving or even make it into December. One day I had to put it on to check something and that’s when I discovered that one path of the lights was not working. I was so disappointed. I am so bad at dealing with this kind of stuff so I knew this was going to be a challenge!

Some people on Facebook gave recommendations on what to do. I bought some kind of tool that was going to figure out what the problem was and extra bulbs. But I realized this was not for me! So last night I had enough. I started the project pull all lights off the tree…

I knew it was going to be challenging to get them all off but not THAT hard! Whomever put them on certainly did it complicated but after 2.5 hours the tree was stripped of the lights. It was actually a good feeling. Imagine, it only took 10 minutes to put the new lights on…

I wanted to honor mom with the tree so I took off all the ornaments that was on her tree and put on this tree. She loved colorful trees and if you ask me, I quite accomplished that this year!

I still haven’t found all my ornaments and decorations, despite looking through the garage so if I come across it I will add to the tree. But it will work for now.

The good part thou was that I still had light strings left. So I took mom’s tree and put it outside my front door and put all the lights on it! Tadaaaa

I can’t wait to see it tonight when it’s dark! But so far I really like it! So finally I’m happy with the trees. Glad that I actually have two. I won’t put any ornaments on this one unless it’s plastic since it’s outdoors. Check out my social media to see the picture from when it’s dark that I will take later tonight!
