After three long days at work it was nice to have a day off. It is Memorial Day and I had some ideas of what to do with the day. I needed to clean the house, there was a Memorial Day ceremony both in Canton and Kaufman and I had in mind to attend at least one of them. Maybe go to the movie and see Cruella. But as soon as I got out of bed my boys Twix and BamBam decided what we should do. They wanted to take a walk. So I figured that it is for the best of all three so out we went on our normal route. And it was so awesome! The temperature was great, all three of us was walking in a good pace, even BamBam was really into a good tempo. It was only 6:30 am and since it is holiday not many cars to deal with either. It turned out to be one of the best walks in a long time!

I had made up my mind to attend the ceremony in Canton. Three reasons; it was the earliest one, it was the closest one and I had never been to the Van Zandt County Memorial Plaza. I had about 75 minutes until I had to leave so it was just to take a shower and get ready to head out the door. And why not bring the boys so they got stimulated as well…

Twix still doesn’t like cartrips. He gets carsick so intentionally they had not had any breakfast yet.
You would think that they would be a little settled at the event after first walking for an hour. Well, BamBam was his normal shy, he doesn’t want to be left alone but he doesn’t want to be at events either… Twix wanted to talk to everyone and thought that the entire event was just about him. But he behaved okay.

The event was very well attended with a keynote speaker, LTC (ret) Allen Hahn who was amazing! I am so glad that I went to the event. A lot of people came up and talked to me (read Twix) and I got to talk both about the boys and CERT as I was in my inofficial t-shirt. Also met people I haven’t seen for a while. I really like that events are back and the world is about to open up again!

I know there was a couple of pictures taken of me and the boys but I haven’t seen any of them online yet so I’ll have to post them later…

And no, I didn’t clean the house, and I didn’t go to the movie. The rest of the afternoon all three of us just chilled on the couch and did absolutely nothing. I am off tomorrow as well so I will do some of it tomorrow… If I feel like it…
