I was sitting in a mandatory online class for work and had let the dogs out in the backyard. We were almost done when I heard BamBam barking and trying to get in the door. So I went and looked what the heck was going on. I had seen them in the cameras just a minute earlier so why was he going so crazy? BamBam isn’t the kind of dog going crazy for nothing. He came running in and looked at me. I called for Twix but he didn’t come. Where was Twix? I looked under the porch and couldn’t see him, walked around the backyard and couldn’t find a hole in the fence anywhere. Called his name all over the place, and as you know, I am loud! Went back inside to see if he was there. Went out on the front of the house. Started walking up and down the streets but he was gone! Knocked on my next door neighbors door asking if he was in their backyard. They took their car going up and down the streets. Other people came out and asked what was going on. We stopped cars and finally, after 20 minutes I called Wills Point PD to ask them to keep an eye out for him, posted on Facebook that Twix was missing and we screamed on the top of our lungs.
He is such a nice dog and I thought that someone must have stolen him. My heart was pounding. What the heck would I do now? What would be my next step? He is microchipped. I was just about to call my vet to let them know that he was missing in case someone brought him in. I was standing out on the street when I heard some weird noise from my backyard. I ran through the house and came back and saw this…
This tub was leaning up on the rail to avoid snakes to get under it… I started to laugh so hard… surely enough, Twix was there…
I didn’t know if I should laugh or cry! So relieved that he was not stolen, so glad that he was not hurt but then look at this super happy muddy boy! I called back to the PD and told them he was found, so embarrassing but anyway funny. Posted on Facebook that he was found and a fun story would come soon…
Twix was so proud of himself! He did not realize how much he scared the crap out of me and the entire neigborhood…
Then… it was just to deal with the mud… Twix likes to take bath. He loves water generally so to get him in the tub wasn’t the problem. It wasn’t warm enough for me to do it outside, that would have been preferable considering how my bathtub looked afterwards…
Life with Twix… it is always entertaining! But he was still very proud of himself, now a clean dog, he took his place in the couch and was ready for a nap! And I learned a lesson, don’t lean the tub to the rail so it can fall on top of the dog!
