As a Sudden Cardiac Arrest Survivor I try to participate in events that supports American Heart Association. Last year I was registered to participate in Tyler/Longview Heart Walk but due to an incident earlier that week I wasn’t able to do the actual walk, but I was at least present at the event. Tried to find a picture from that event but couldn’t… Anyway… Due to stupid Covid 19 this years heart walk was a virtual walk instead of a fun event. If you have followed me the last month and a half you know that I have not done much workout. My heart and I have not really been on the same page but I decided that I was gonna try to make today’s walk a kick off to get going again. So why not get the dogs and go for a 5k with them in a pace that is comfortable for all three of us! And as a proof that I actually did it I went on Facebook and did a livestream.

It is not easy to walk two dogs and do a livestream at the same time, I can tell you that! But we all survived it without any injuries! It was actually an awesome walk with the dogs and it felt so good to do this walk again!

As I mentioned in the livestream, I encourage everyone to do a CPR class. Either if you do the entire BLS card class which is a 4 hour class or just a Hands On Class. You simply have no idea of when you will have to use it. And if someone goes down on Walmart you will feel more comfortable knowing what to do. Since I work EMS I have to renew my BLS card every second year and I actually did mine last Monday.

I have a goal for 2021, that is to become a BLS instructor. I have wanted to do it for a long time but the time hasn’t been there yet and I have just procrastinated it. Another goal on the 2021 list… check back in at this time next year to see if I completed the list!
