Cleaning Out The Freezer

I got an idea today to cook something out of what I have at home! I have a lot of potatoes and some ground beef, some shredded cheese. So I had the idea to do roasted potatoes and just a steak. But I didn’t have any regular olive oil but I had this thing that I bought on my daytrip to Paris, TX last year.

I had no clue how blood orange would taste with potatoes! But you take what you have and I tried. When I opened the oven to flip the potato a strong smell of orange came out in the kitchen. I must say I was very suspicious of how this would turn out.
For the steaks, I didn’t have any egg at home to bind the meat so I took the shredded cheese instead, hoping it would be enough to keep it together. Some veggies and this was the final result

I was very surprised how awesome the blood orange olive oil worked on the potatoes! It was awesome!!! It gave it all a little different taste that was really nice. I won’t use anything else than that from now on! The cheese in the steaks was really awesome and it kept the meat together. A little sour cream and it was perfect! Not the last time I did this and thankfully I have enough food to bring to work!
